I offer several types of sessions, varying from family shoots to child portraiture. I love to capture the everyday, unstaged moments, and aim to capture what you love doing, whether it is strolling in the park, having a good time in the playground or simply eating ice cream (these are the best pics!). In this way, there will be real smiles, candid personalities and spontaneous emotions. I am happy to conduct a session at your house, or another location of your choice. Having lived in Amsterdam, Singapore and Basel with two toddlers I’m sure I might provide some additional tips!

Family session fees start at CHF375 and include the time and talent of your photographer. A retainer and signed contract is required at the time of scheduling in order to reserve your date on my calendar.

Q&A

What days of the week do you work? 

I’m available to shoot any day of the week! For outdoor sessions I usually aim for early mornings or late afternoons/evenings, depending on the season. That’s when the light works its magic and gives the most flattering vibes for my sessions. I photograph my popular Rhine sessions  during early mornings. Weekend sessions tend to fill up fast, so it’s best to book in advance if you’re aiming for those days.

 Do I need to pay anything for my session before it happens? 

Yes. To secure your preferred date on my calendar, I do require a retainer along with a signed contract at the time of booking. Bookings are processed on a first-come, first-served basis, prioritizing those who both sign the contract and submit the retainer payment first.

Who determines the location for the session?

You! As long as it’s within a reasonable distance from Basel-Stadt. When you reach out to book your session, simply let me know your preferred location so we can discuss. Whether it’s at your home or an outdoor setting, I’m open to your ideas.

What happens if it rains during our session?

I won’t have you out there in a downpour trying to smile through cold, grumpy faces. No joy in that scenario whatsoever! If it’s pouring during our scheduled time, we’ll have to reschedule, no doubt about it.

I normally don’t call off sessions until the day of. Weather reports are often wrong, so I hold out until rain is actually happening.

I practically have a second career as a weather watcher. I hold off on canceling too early because some of the most epic skies I’ve ever seen have popped up after or just before a rainstorm. It’s when the sun decides to play peek-a-boo with the clouds that the real magic happens— think pink and gold skies that’ll take your breath away!

What happens if it’s cloudy?

Clouds are awesome on the day of your session. You absolutely should not worry if your shoot day is overcast. Clouds give you the most flattering light for perfect skin tones and creamy colours. It’s my most favourite weather condition 😉

Terms and Conditions Lina Meisen

It is mutually agreed that the following terms and conditions form an integral part of this contract and that no variation or modification of this contract shall be effective unless accepted in writing by Lina Meisen Photography. By booking and paying Lina Meisen Photography for your photo session, you agree to be bound by the terms and conditions set out below.

Payment Terms:

Retainer is payable at the time of booking to secure the date of the photo session.

Lateness/Rescheduling:

Lina Meisen will accommodate where possible to extend the prescheduled session period if the Client arrives late. However, in circumstances where the photographer is not able to extend the session period, the photoshoot will be conducted within the prescheduled time and may result in less photographs taken due to the late arrival of the Client.

Lina Meisen Photography maintains the right to reschedule if needed due to inclement weather, illness, emergency, equipment malfunction or circumstances beyond her control.

Alteration:

In the event that additional editing is required (besides the standard editing provided at the discretion of Lina Meisen Photography), or other additional work is required, additional charges may be payable. Lina Meisen Photography shall inform the Client of such additional charges and any impact on timelines and shall not be obliged to carry out these changes or additional work until additional charges are paid. The Client shall pay all quoted and agreed expenses and charges arising from any alteration of the original job description.

Rights for Personal Usage Only:

All photographs taken remain the property of Lina Meisen Photography. The Client may reproduce photographs taken by the Studio for personal non-commercial use and for printing copies for families and friends. Images may be used on personal websites as long as a copyright notice appears near the images stating that they were taken by Lina Meisen Photography. The Client shall have no right to sell the photographs or submit them in a contest. Commercial and Corporate Clients will need to inform Lina Meisen Photography for approval if photos are to be used for commercial purposes.

Intellectual Property (Copyright, amongst others):

Lina Meisen Photography may display and use the photographs taken for display, website, photographic contests, trade exhibitions and any other purpose thought proper by Lina Meisen Photography for the marketing of its business and services. The Client releases Lina Meisen Photography from all claims and liability relating to said photographs, UNLESS the Client has made a request for privacy prior to the photo session by writing, in which case Lina Meisen Photography may not use such photos of the Client for publicity, promotion or presentation purposes.
